Engaging with the Westside Communities
At the heart of the WCCB project lies a commitment to engaging and empowering the Westside communities. Through collaborative efforts with local residents, businesses, and organizations, we strive to ensure that the bridge serves as a catalyst for positive change and inclusive development.
This project will attract new residents, create mid-wage job opportunities accessible for existing Westside Community residents, increase visitors and vibrancy, and spur investments for this area of persistent poverty within the historically disadvantaged communities of English Avenue, Vine City, and Grove Park.

The Westside Community Connector Bridge (WCCB) is an exciting endeavor aimed at transforming transportation connectivity in Atlanta. This innovative project will create a pedestrian and micro-mobility bridge, facilitating seamless travel between the Westside communities and vital areas such as the Georgia Tech campus, Midtown Atlanta, and Downtown Atlanta. By bridging existing gaps in infrastructure, the WCCB promises to enhance accessibility, promote sustainable modes of transportation, and foster community engagement.

Forging Connections
The WCCB serves as more than just a physical bridge—it's a symbol of connectivity and collaboration. Construction of the WCCB will complete the connection to the Westside Connector of the Atlanta BeltLine, a 22-mile multi-use trail that encircles and connects the city’s intown neighborhoods.
By linking Georgia Tech's educational, cultural, and recreational amenities to those of the Westside communities, we aim to create a seamless exchange of resources and opportunities. From sharing innovative research spaces to fostering joint events and initiatives, the WCCB strengthens the bond between Georgia Tech and the Westside, paving the way for mutual growth and prosperity.
